About · EmendaKit AS
EmendaKit AS was established in Florø on the west coast of Norway in 2022. The company was developed by healthcare professionals with experience from acute situations and a desire for more systematic, quality-assured solutions for storing medicines and medical equipment.
Background
In 2019, an incident occurred where a patient went into anaphylactic shock. The experience made it clear that emergency equipment had to be easier to find and faster to put to use.
As a midwife at the Women's Clinic at Helse Førde, Kjersti Grinde searched for a better anaphylaxis kit for her own ward. When she could not find a solution that met the need, she initiated the development of her own — in collaboration with a multidisciplinary resource group of doctors, nurses and pharmacists.
After a period of development and testing, Helse Førde decided to adopt the solution, and in 2023, 120 kits were procured. The same year, anaesthetist Gregers Halvorsen came in as a co-owner.
